Single-storey does not automatically mean simple. Roof pitch, gutter height, uneven ground, eaves, access around the home and the work being performed can all create fall risks that need proper controls.
Scaffolding may be useful for roof replacements, gutter works, cladding, rendering, painting, solar access and extensions where trades need stable platforms for repeated work.
Ask these questions early
- Will workers need both hands free at height?
- Is the ground level and clear around the home?
- Will several trades use the same access?
- Is edge protection required for roof work?
Planning access early usually saves time because trades can work from a safer, more efficient platform instead of improvising around ladders.
